But yes, you're absolutely right with all what you wrote here. We discussed about this in our Spanish lessons already in the beginning of the 21st century, and what I understand is that the attitude towards bullfighting has gotten more strict along the years. I don't see it as a "Spanish tradition", but just as a "tradition", that is slowly going to fade.

Inspired by your comment, I checked this postcard series, and it's interesting that there's such a photo in the Spain card as the rest of the cards have a landscape as a background photo. I'd be curious to know why this one is different!Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00978310085800336886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8586030106543146930.post-6683904667422956812014-10-18T16:40:42.877+03:002014-10-18T16:40:42.877+03:00I love your postcards as usual. I don't know for other countries, but I disagree with the Spanish one. Putting the image of bullfighting hasn't been the best idea in the world. This is just an stereotype. Most people in Spain (like me) has never attended bullfighting, and there is a strong movement against. Even in two big regions bullfighting has been banned. In any case, it isn't a tradition of the whole Spain, but of some regions (mostly the South).

I don't want to spoil the joy of having received this postcard :)
But anyway: think twice before sending it to an animal lover!Mail Adventureshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17574231572383527950noreply@blogger.com
