Finland - rest of the world theme wishes

This is what I sent in a tag to the UK - the receiver wished for "something Finnish" and Fazer's chocolate, so I ended up in sending a Moomin kitchen wipe and some different chocolates.

I'd love to participate more in these (tiny) item tags, but the postage in Finland can become really expensive if you want to send something more than just light and flat things...

What about you, do you often swap items other than postcards? What kind of things? And how's the postage in your country?

  1. In Poland a letter to 50 grams costs 5 zł (around 1.20 euros) and to 100 grams the cost two once more. I send only a minor thing but sometimes I happen to send a larger package!

    Tasty letter;)

    1. Yes, I agree! Shipping is very expensive which discourages to exchange such swap box. ;( I think that from time to time may be mentioned a larger package. ;)

    2. Huh, that's a lot, really! I could not afford sending even postcards (at least not that amount I'm currently sending) for that price...

      Thank you! :)

  2. I'm also from Finland so I feel you ;)
I LOVE sending some small sweets, tea and stickers with the letters but it's easiest withing Europe.. Just last month I sent two liquorices, some tea and 2 postcards to Japan and had to pay nearly 4€!
The heaviest thing I sent last month was a 1,4kg birthday/homewarming package to my German penpal, ended up costing 18€ to send in ECONOMY D: But I did add letter sets, sweets, a bag, a mug and stuff like that in the package..

    1. Haha, we poor Finns. ;)

Yup, I've also experienced the high ECONOMY prices for packages; last year I sent two bigger Christmas parcels to my pen pals, and ended up buying 30€ for that...

There really should be a loyal customer club for the postal service with some nice discounts on stamps etc., don't you think?
