This is the 700th published entry in this blog - huh! Time has flown, really. I'm kind of curious to see what 2017 will bring within. Right now I don't feel like stopping writing this, even though I have to admit that the last couple of months have been more inactive than I had hoped for.

Tällä hetkellä ei kuitenkaan tunnu siltä, että haluaisin lopettaa tämän blogin ylläpidon, joskin myönnettävä on, että viimeiset pari kuukautta ovat olleet epäaktiivisempia kuin mitä olisin itse toivonut.

First Christmas cards

It is the greatest time of the year for mail lovers! Christmas cards start to pour in - at least hopefully, as there have been major problems with mail delivery in Finland lately... Well, we do hope for the best, of course.

These two beauties were the first Christmas cards to arrive this year - thank you so much, ladies!

Postinrakastajien suosikkivuodenaika on taas täällä! Joulukorttien pitäisi alkaa lennähdellä luukkuihin ihan näinä päivinä - paino sanalla 'pitäisi', sillä Postillahan on nyt viime aikoina ollut tavallista enemmän ongelmia jakelussaan... No, toivomme tietysti parasta tässäkin asiassa!

Nämä kaksi upeaa korttia saivat kunnian olla ensimmäiset saapuneet joulukortit vuodelle 2016 - suurkiitokset, ystävät!

Christmas mail to Germany

This package traveled to my pal Vanessa for Christmas. We've been writing for more or less 10 years (!), and swapping Christmas packages has become quite a tradition. It's a lot of fun to put her packages together, and this (or, oh well, last) year was no exception. I ended up choosing a Moomin apron and a kitchen glove, letter papers, stickers and washi tapes, tea and chocolate.

Do you have pals with whom you swap Christmas packages yearly? How is it like?

Tämä joulupaketti matkusti kirjekaverilleni Vanessalle. Olemme kirjoitelleet kymmenisen (!) vuotta, ja joululahjojen vaihtamisesta on tullut jo eräänlainen perinne. Nautin suuresti hänen pakettiensa kokoamisesta, eikä tämä (tai siis viime) vuosi ollut siinä suhteessa poikkeus. Pakettiin päätyi Muumi-essu ja -patakinnas, kirjepapereita, tarroja ja teippejä, teetä ja suklaata.

 Onko sinulla kirjekaveri, jonka kanssa vaihdat vuosittain joulupaketteja? Millaisia kokemuksia sinulla on asiasta?

 

My favorite Finnish Christmas cards for 2015

It's this time of the year again... Due to our moving and Japan trip, in the end I was quite late with my Christmas mail, but managed to send them out eventually. Here are some of my favorite Christmas cards for this year.

Taas on se aika vuodesta... Muuton ja Japanin-matkamme takia olin loppupeleissä vähän myöhässä näiden kanssa, mutta onnistuinpa kuitenkin saamaan kaikki joulupostit matkaan. Tässä muutama poiminta tämän vuoden suosikeistani.

Hola a todos!

Thank you so much for all the answers I have received so far for my poll! They've already helped me a lot with my thoughts about the future of this blog.

The Spanish winter has been kind - it feels like our spring, actually... I can hardly believe it's January when walking outside in the sunshine! Today I met two postcrossers and had a very, very lovely afternoon and evening - gracias, Pilar y Victor! Ha sido un gran placer conoceros.

This post is all about the Christmas mail, but that's it from my side, I promise! I just have some received Christmas items to share after these...
