I received this new capital city to my collection quite at the end of 2016 - hoping to hunt more capital cities during 2017!

I received this wonderful Rabat-postcard from Eva - it fits my capital city collection perfectly! I guess I have a soft spot for round-shaped stamps, too... Thank you so much once again, dear Ewa!

Mail from a new country: Pakistan

Yay, a new capital to my collection! Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, was built in the 1960s and specifically for the purpose of becoming a capital city. It looks fascinating, judging by this photo. Pakistan seems to have some very cool stamps as well!

Juhuu, uusi pääkaupunki kokoelmaani! Pakistanin pääkaupunki Islamabad rakennettiin 1960-luvulla nimenomaan siksi, että siitä tulisi maan uusi pääkaupunki. Tämän kuvan perusteella Islamabad näyttää todella kiehtovalta. Pakistanilaiset postimerkit ovat upeita nekin!

Mail from new countries: Kazakhstan, Ghana and Iraq

I'm back in business! The last two weeks have been wonderful; I spent some days in Germany and last week I spent time with my siblings and other relatives. Does very good to your mood every now and then... Now I'm back at home and hoping to do some snail mail -related things.

During my absence, I had received some very cool cards - let's start with a tiny bunch of cards from countries I had never received mail before:

Täällä ollaan taas! Viimeiset kaksi viikkoa ovat olleet ihania; vietin muutaman päivän Saksassa ja viime viikolla tapasin sisaruksia ja muita sukulaisia. Vaihtelu virkistää ja parantaa arjen laatua... Nyt olen taas kotosalla ja toivon, että tällä viikolla ehtisin puuhailla myös postijuttuja.

Capital city collection

Some weeks ago, I decided to continue collecting capital city postcards. This is a collection that I started over 10 years ago, quite at the beginning, when I discovered Postcrossing in the first place. But then the life came on the way; I sent and received less cards, and did not have the motivation to collect as eager as I maybe should have. When I "returned", I started lots of new collections (like coffee and books) and those have kept me busy. However, now I long for a change and wanted to continue with this collection of mine.

Here are some breath-taking capital city cards that I have received lately:

Päätin muutama viikko sitten jatkaa pääkaupunkikokoelmani kartuttamista. Aloitin keräämisen jo yli kymmenen vuotta sitten - suunnilleen silloin, kun aloitin Postcrossingin harrastamisen. Kuten klisee kuuluu, niin elämä vei kuitenkin mennessään ja postihommat jäivät ns. paitsioon, eikä keräämiseenkään ollut samanlaista motivaatiota kuin aikaisemmin. Kun sitten parin vuoden jälkeen "palasin" crossauksen pariin, aloitin monta ihan uutta kokoelmaa (kuten kahvi- ja kirja-aiheiset), jotka ovat pitäneet keräilijäminäni kiireisenä aina tähän asti. Nyt kuitenkin alkoi tuntua siltä, että tahdon vaihtelua, joten tartuin tähän keskeneräiseen kokoelmaani uudella innolla.
