Christmas mail from Poland

I received a HUGE package just before Christmas - when I went to the post office in order to pick it up, I had no idea who had sent it. To my surprise I recognized my pen pal's, Anna's, handwriting on the package. On her letter she asked me to open the actual package on the Christmas eve, so you can imagine my curiousness while waiting for the day to arrive...

And here's what she had sent:

I was literally speechless while opening the package (that had been dedicated "to a girl who loves to write letters")! So many beautiful and sweet (literally) things, huh! The decorations are now on our tiny Christmas tree, and the angora wool socks I'll take with me to Spain.

I feel so privileged to have such friends around the world.
Thank you, Anna - Dziękujemy!

Christmas mail, part IV

I just wonder how many "parts" there will be in this series of posts...

But, anyway, here are other two little envelopes that headed to the world earlier this month; now they have arrived their destinations.

Christmas present from my sister

One of my little sisters gave me these for Christmas; a bunch of Moomin postcards and a tiny, self-made Moomintroll. What a delight!

The little Moomin now sits in our Christmas tree, and the cards - well, I'm sure they'll be used by the next Christmas!

Christmas mail, part III

Hello!

How was your Christmas? Relaxing and peaceful, I hope - at least mine was that kind of holiday. I don't know whether I have the words to describe how amazing it was (and still is) that after such long and a bit stressful work days I had (and have) totally free days that can be dedicated to whatever I think feels nice at that very moment!

I have also received a couple of messages concerning my sent Christmas mail, so guess what?
... Yes, that's right, it's time for the "part III" in this little series of posts. So here you go - the surprises to Australia and Japan!

letter and Christmas surprise to David, Australia

Christmas surprise to Shoichi, Japan

A couple of curiosities about these dear two gentlemen:

David is one of the two native English speakers I'm writing with at the moment. We lost the contact some years ago, but thanks to Facebook, letters are crossing the ocean again. It pretty much feels like there was no gap at all.

Shoichi is one of the few pen pals that I have actually met - our tiny meet-up was last January in Helsinki during his holiday trip. A very delighting event, to be honest.

I have "known" these both dear friends for approximately 10 years already. Time flies...

Christmas mail, part II

More Christmas mail to be revealed, here you go!

The evening will be spent at work; only 3 more shifts to go before a well-deserved, 3-day-long break!

The odd pieces on this photo (and on some others that I'll publish later) are Moomin band aids. :)

Christmas mail, part I

Hello!

As you maybe remember, I posted a photo of all my sent Christmas mail a couple of weeks ago.

Since I have now received some messages and other notifications implying that some items of this pile of mail have already arrived (and been opened, too!), I think it's time to start to share them here as well - little by little, of course!

So let's start with the tiny surprises and letters that I sent to Poland, Finland and Uzbekistan:

Christmas + birthday gift and letter to Agnieszka, Poland

The little bag with an elf was filled with candies - and looks like I forgot to place the letter to the photo (oops)...

letter to Heli, Finland

Christmas card + letter to Katja, Finland

More received things

Good morning!

I'll spend today at work (like all the days before Christmas, actually), but had luckily some time to get things together and update the blog a bit. So, here is the mail that I have received this week:

letter from Katja, Finland

letter from Lei, the USA

surprise mail from Julia, Ukraine

IG swap from China

I'm running out of days in Finland sooo rapidly that it almost scares me a bit! On the other hand, I can't wait to leave. Complicated things for one's mind, I guess...

Enjoy your Saturday!

Stuff in our mailbox

Some received stuff from last week - the first HUGE package from Eva was a total surprise! No need to mention that those Milka chocolates are long gone already... And that little teddy is a perfect match to our tiny teddy bear "collection", hih.

Today is my last day-off until the 25th December, so I'm going to enjoy it to the bottom of my heart! Wishing you a relaxing Thursday as well!

Sent Xmas cards

Hello there!

I haven't mailed out anything since last Monday, but I still have quite a pile of photos of the already sent things waiting to be published here... So let's start with some Christmas cards! Most of these are still on their way to the receiver, but I think we can keep the secret as I'm not publishing any names.

I must say that I was really satisfied with the wide range of Christmas cards we had this year; it was actually a bit difficult to choose "just" the prettiest!

Which would be your favorite? Did you send / will you send many Christmas cards this year?

Oh, and did you know, that we Finns are quite eager to send Christmas cards? Last year "we" sent 37 million of them... Quite a lot, when considering that the population of the country is just 5,4 million!
