Getting back my own cards

Ha - I've already received 23 postcards this week, and it's only Wednesday... but oh well, OK. 20 of those cards have been "my cards" - remember when I wrote about my "ghost collection" back in May? Well, these cards used to be part of it, but now, thanks to two wonderful ladies, they're actually part of my real collection.

It's quite nice to receive cards that show some excellent taste from the sender's side!

Gems from my granny

I visited my grandparents last week, and my granny donated me these old postcards. She had written and/or sent these to her aunt when she was a little girl (on the backside of one card there's the name of my granny, written with those big letters that little children tend to write). The aunt has passed away long time ago, but my granny had kept these cards - and now she gave them to me. A true gem, I'd say.

Where I keep my empty cards...

... that I have bought to myself!

I wrote about this little "side-hobby" back in January and it is still doing well! These two tin cans hold some really neat cards that I (or some of my friends or relatives) have spotted and bought. The problem is that I do not really collect all-empty cards, so there ones need to have some text added before I can count them as a part of my collection. The solution has been that I swap some empty cards with someone who thinks alike and then we have filled the cards and sent them back to each other. Someone might call it waste of both money and time, but I somehow find it very darling and fun.

I used to have one box (the one on the right) for these cards, but now my "ghost collection" is already so big that I needed more space. I spotted the other box (on the left) in a flea market some weeks ago, and as the seller only asked 2 euros for it, I could not resist. Turned out that the size is perfect for not only "traditional size" postcards, but also for square cards.

Who else has such a collection?

My treasures

Celebrate all the good moments in everyday-life!

These are all blank cards that I've bought myself... to myself. Pathetic or not?! I have a little tin box filled with blank, wonderful cards, and at times I send a bunch of them to someone who writes them full and then sends them back to me. I return the favor, of course. Is this familiar to you guys, too? Do you usually buy yourself cards and then get them written (and stamped) later by someone else? Or does this just sound waste-of-time, haha?!
